Meet guitar coach: Jimmy Kane

Are you done dabbling and ready to actually play?

Most guitar players I work with aren’t beginners. They’ve played before. Sometimes for years.

But life got busy.

Practice became inconsistent. And now nothing feels solid.

You sit down with the guitar and: don’t really know what to practice feel like you should be better by now go round in circles watch videos but still feel stuck start again… then drift again.  It’s not a talent issue.

And it’s not a motivation problem either.

It’s a direction problem.

You don’t need more content.  You don’t need to start from scratch.  And you’re not broken. You need a clear approach, honest feedback, and a way of practicing guitar that actually fits your life now — not the one you had all those years ago.

Real Results From Returning Players

“The best investment I’ve made in my playing”

“I’d been stuck for years and developed plenty of bad habits, which Jimmy quickly identified and helped me fix. This really kickstarted my progress on the instrument again and allowed me to make great progress towards my goals. Within weeks of working with Jimmy, my playing improved more than in the last five years combined. He breaks things down in a way that makes sense, so you actually get better—fast.”Alex, 35, Software Engineer

“Finally, I sound like the guitarist I always wanted to be”

“I used to play in my 20s but life got in the way. Coming back to guitar was frustrating—until I found Jimmy... - even my wife recognises the songs I'm playing now! He helped me rebuild my technique, dial in my tone, and enjoy playing again. Not only that but Jimmy is a really good bloke with a great sense of humour and certainly has improved my confidence.” Ian, 61, Business Owner

“I was going round in circles—Jimmy got me unstuck”

“Returning to guitar playing after life’s adventures and diversions i.e. the day job, family-life, 5-minute tasks etc… has meant tackling many new techniques along the way, involving quite a bit of trial and error to ‘get-it-right. I’ve tried so many different online courses and teachers, but nothing really clicked. Then I discovered Jimmy’s guitar lessons and these have given me a focus and direction to achieve the best results.DD 55, ATC

“More progress in months than I made in years”

“I’d taken lessons before, but they always felt aimless and unprofessional. Jimmy’s approach is different—he actually gives you a roadmap so you know what to practice and why. I’ve saved so much time, money, and frustration just by following his advice.”  Mark, 31, Architect

Having face to face time with an expert, who takes a personal interest in your progress and achievement, is just something you can't get from Youtube

"I’m quite self-sufficient but Jimmy has really helped give my enthusiasm proper direction in a relaxed and comfortable way. I used to jump from Youtube video to video and nothing ever stuck.
Jimmy has always taken the time to assess what my particular needs are and to help me understand them better myself . His mentoring has also encouraged me to strive for a bit more than I would have settled for.  Martin D, 61, Supply Chain Manager

HOW I WORK

Reactivate what’s already there.
Reconnect with the guitar so it feels enjoyable again.
Rebuild properly so progress actually sticks.

No hype. No shortcuts. No endless rabbit holes.

Just structured, focused work that builds confidence over time.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for you if:

You’ve played guitar before but feel rusty or inconsistent

You don’t know how or what to practice anymore

You want to do this properly this time — not wing it!

You care about music and don’t want to drift away from it again

I tend to work best with people who actually want to get better at guitar, not just think about it.

Most of the guys I work with are busy, juggling work and life, but are willing to carve out 15–20 minutes a day and stay consistent.

They’re not looking for random lessons or YouTube rabbit holes — they want clear direction, honest feedback, and a simple plan that moves things forward.

If you’re happy to show up, put the work in, and stick with the process, we’ll get on well.

If you’re just after the occasional lesson or want to dip in and out, that’s absolutely fine too — I offer one-off sessions for that.

THE OUTCOME

The goal isn’t to be flashy.

It’s to feel competent again.

To sit down, know what you’re doing, and enjoy playing without second-guessing yourself.

Quiet confidence. Solid foundations. Clear direction.

About Jimmy Kane

Meet your guitar coach

I first picked up a guitar in the mid-90s. Like a lot of guys, I just wanted to be in a band.

What started as messing around in a bedroom turned into something that stuck for the next 30 odd years! Gigs, festivals, awards, late nights, practice rooms. The whole lot.

But here’s what matters more.

Over the last two decades, I’ve worked with hundreds of men who didn’t need inspiration — they needed direction.

Most of them weren’t beginners.

They’d played before. Sometimes for years.
But they felt stuck. Rusty. Inconsistent.
Not sure what to practice. Not sure if they were doing it right.

And got quietly frustrated because they cared.

I’ve seen the same pattern over and over:

Too much information

Not enough structure

Practice without progress

Motivation that fades

Confidence that comes and goes

My work isn’t about fast, flashy licks or impressing anyone.

It’s about helping you:

rebuild solid foundations

practice with clarity

fix what’s actually holding you back

feel competent again

Whether you want to tighten your playing, get back into a band, or simply stop drifting and do this properly — I’ll meet you where you are.

No hype. No shortcuts.

Just honest work that leads to quiet confidence and real progress.
